in .

The XXVI World congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organisations (IUFRO) held in Stockholm on the 23rd-29th of June 2024 brought together more than 4,200 participants from 102 countries. It provided a global forum for the exchange of knowledge, perspectives and visions between scientists across a broad spectrum of disciplines and dialogue with youth, policy makers, forest managers, business representatives and civil society organisations.

The FRUITDIV project was represented at the conference by consortium partners from INRAE (France), AUTH (Greece), GIS (Slovenia), UNSA (Bosnia-Herzegovia) and UU (Sweden).

A poster entitled ‘Linking Fruit and Forest tree communities: the FRUITDIV European initiative’ was presented at the poster session “Building international initiatives to strengthen forest adaptation strategies in a changing climate”.

Furthermore, the FRUITDIV project was presented by the coordinator, V. Decroocq (INRAE), at the Division “Physiology and Genetics”. This allowed to reach potential stakeholders for FRUITDIV, e.g. from Austria, Indonesia, Switzerland and Norway who might be willing to join the initiative of identifying, characterising and saving fruit tree wild relatives in the context of the project.

Further interactions are on the way. Follow FRUITDIV through our website and social media to stay updated.
